Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 108,425 tonnes of cargo including 66,706 tonnes of import cargo, 41,719 tonnes of export cargo and 5,084 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 66,706 tonnes comprised of 28,382 tonnes of containerised cargo; 25,696 tonnes of bulk cargo: 20,500 tonnes of coal; 3,549 tonnes of canola seeds; 1,647 tonnes of rice and 12,628 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 41,719 tonnes comprised of 22,505 tonnes of containerised cargo; 80 tonnes of general cargo; 19,134 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,172 tonnes of cement; 15,653 tonnes of wheat and 1,309 tonnes of rice. Five ships namely Miramis, Mire, Uru Bhum, APL Japan and Bareli carrying ethanol, LSFO and three container ships respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz Cap Graham, Hs Challenger, Hanjin Rome, Violetta and Blossom carrying four container ships and oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths. Five ships namely Hs Challenger, Hanjin Rome, Violetta, Blossom and Ocean Jade with three container ships, oil tanker and coal carrier respectively expected to sail on Thursday, while four ships namely Cap Graham, BM Interpid, Kota Akbar and Reis-G with three container ships and wheat carrier are expected to sail on Friday.
Three vessels viz Chembulk Minneapol, Patriotic and Kota Akbar carrying tallow oil tanker, chemicals carrier and container ship respectively due to arrive on Thursday, while thirteen vessels viz Marilena, Quetta, Liwa, Oriental Chemi, Celina Star, Tandis, Ital Oceano, Caribbean Sea, CSL Ride, Marcampania, APL Sharjah, Ts Tokyo and OOCL Dalian carrying chemicals carriers, crude oil tanker, mogas, base oil tanker and nine container ships respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIMThe Port Qasim handled 89,139 tonnes of cargo includes 65,467 tonnes of import cargo, 23,672 tonnes of export cargo and 1,932 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 65,467 tonnes includes 52,672 tonnes of furnace oil and 12,795 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 23,672 tonnes includes 1,810 tonnes of wheat; 5,618 tonnes of cement; 3,296 tonnes of rice and 12,948 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Four ships namely MV MSC Namabia-I, MV Ikaruga, MV CGM Verdi and MV Kassos sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while another ship namely MV Wales-II is expected to sail on Thursday. A total number of nine vessels viz MV MSC Namabia-I, MV Ikaruga, MV CGM Verdi, CV Abu Dhabi, Alexi-I, MV Wales-II, MV Abdul, Zulal-N and MV Kassos are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, wheat and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Four ships namely Al-Kuwaitiah, MSC Magali, Santa Paola and New Delhi Express carrying diesel oil and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of three vessels viz Santa Paola, New Delhi Express and Al-Kuwaitiah carrying containers and diesel oil respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday.
