Suicide attacks termed retaliation of drone attacks

Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that huge loans of 60 billion dollars were taken during the last 63 years. Had the governments used these loans as a sacred trust, the situation would have been different and Pakistan would not have been forced to beg from others. He said that the aid given as charity has disgraced the country and Pakistan is compelled to obey the commands of others for a few dollars.
He said that if the president of country writes a letter in Washington Post to congratulate on the violation of aerial space of Abbotabad, it is but natural that every citizen of Pakistan would feel perturbed. He said that drone attacks result in the death of innocent people and, consequently, their relatives play with the lives of innocent people in Lahore, Karachi, Hyderabad and other cities. He said that drone attacks could not be stopped through sit-ins and slogans.
Shahbaz said time has come to decide whether Pakistanis want to live with honour and dignity or in disgrace. He said that Punjab government, under the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-N chief, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has taken the historic decision to shun such foreign aid, which is at the cost of national honour and sovereignty. He said that projects worth billions of rupees are being implemented expeditiously for the uplift and welfare of people of Khanewal.
According to information of DGPR, received here Friday, the CM was addressing big public gatherings in Tulamba and Kot Islam areas district Khanewal Friday. The chief minister said Pakistan was achieved after numerous sacrifices and great struggle of Quaid-e-Azam but due to mistakes and negligence of last 63 years, it did not remain the Pakistan envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal. He said that once again, motherland is demanding sacrifices for its independence and we have decided to make Pakistan a great country under the leadership of Mian Nawaz Sharif and would not hesitate to give any sacrifice for the purpose.
He said time has come that we live like a living nation. He said that 1,400 years ago, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) had guided us to live an honourable life and they would put the country on the road to progress and prosperity by acting upon His Uswa-e-Hasna (Holy Life of PBUH) and making honesty and sincerity our motto. He said that they would 'eat simple food but never accept such foreign aid that would mar our honour and dignity'. He pledged as Khadim-e-Aala that nothing is dearer to him than the dignity of the country and under the leadership of Mian Nawaz Sharif, they will not hesitate from giving any sacrifice to transform the country in accordance with the ideals of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.
Shahbaz said that Musharraf and his cronies looted national resources ruthlessly in the name of development projects during the last 10 years and Pindi Bhattian-Chiniot-Kamal Road is a living proof of corruption of the previous government, but they again started this project and ensured its high quality completion. He said that Punjab government is spending all resources for the welfare of masses. He said that Daanish schools are being established in the far-flung and backward areas of the province where facilities of free education and boarding and lodging has also been provided to poorest students.
He further said that like the Aitchison, Grammar and other prestigious institutions where admission of children of the poor is prohibited, similarly, admission of children of elite is also banned in Daanish schools. He said that Punjab Educational Endowment Fund has also been established for providing education to talented students facing financial constraints.
Earlier, DCO Khanewal gave a detailed briefing with regard to implementation of development projects and DPO regarding law and order situation. Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that development projects worth billions of rupees are being completed for bringing the backward areas at par with the developed ones of the province and quality and timely completion of these projects was being ensured. He reiterated that no compromise would be made on the quality of construction material to be used in the development projects. He said that the corruption and plundering in the name of development projects had become the story of the past.
He added that Punjab government is spending every single penny of money of the masses on their welfare most transparently. He directed police officers to ensure strict action against criminals and adopt an 'open door policy' for resolution of the problems of the masses. Provincial Minister Malik Nadeem Kamran, Chairman Lahore Transport Company, Khawaja Ahmad Hassaan, members of national and provincial assemblies and Commissioner and RPO Multan were also present on the occasion.
