Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Imtiaz Inayat Elahi Friday sought co-operation of students and general public to make the city clean and green. Addressing the 24th investiture ceremony of the students' council here at CDA Model School, he said that the authority will involve students in its ongoing anti-littering drive 2011 to make the drive a success.
He said that school children are role model and catalysts for change, adding children could help make their elders habitual of cleanness. Inayat also sought co-operation of general public to make the capital clean. "I have written open letter to all residents to make city clean and now will write to educational institutions to join hands with CDA in this regard," he said. He exhorted upon the students to focus on their studies and work devotedly.
He asked them to help the authority in maintaining beauty of Islamabad. He reiterated that without the co-operation of students and general citizens, the federal capital could never be kept clean and green. On this occasion, the newly elected Student's Council of CDA Model School took oath. Arfa Irfan was elected president and Nawal Rashid general Secretary of the council.
Also, Ramsha Fayyaz and Shiza Masood were elected as Presidents of Razia Sultana House and Noor Jehan House respectively and Muattar Zehra and Sumayya Khurshid as General Secretaries. Other office-bearers include, in junior section, Imtisal Hussain, Tayyaba Zahid and Wareesha Azad as presidents of Jinnah House, Nishter House and Iqbal House respectively, while Arzu Fatima, Rida Fatima and Aymen Amjad were elected as general secretaries. Huma Noor Shiekh Farhad, Amal Ahsan, Wahajj Khalid, Tayyaba Majid, Huzaifa Ismail, Kainat Agha, Imran Khurshid, Sadaf Inam, Nimra Khan, Manahil Ajaz, Aatiqa Khan and Shaista Sohail were elected as Class Representatives of the council.
