The Karachi Port handled 59,071 tonnes of cargo including 28,261 tonnes of import cargo, 30,810 tonnes of export cargo and 2,367 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 28,261 tonnes comprised of 25,511 tonnes of containerised cargo and 2,750 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 30,810 tonnes comprised of 18,777 tonnes of containerised cargo; 725 tonnes of general cargo; 8,008 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,798 tonnes of cement; 5,210 tonnes of wheat and 3,300 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Eight ships namely MT Lahore, Lt Genova, OXL Avenir, Hyundai General, Somho Valenica, Silver Craft, APL Zircon and Kota Akbar with oil tanker, container ship, general cargo carrier, container ship, oil tanker and three container ships sailed out to sea during the reported period. Five vessels viz Fatima-1 Kota Akbar, President Jackson, Patriotic and Bux Melody carrying bags, two container ships, oil tanker and container ship respectively are currently at the berths.
Five ships namely Al-Khaliq, Abdullalatif-S, Bux Melody, AS Ophelia and President Jackson with wheat carrier, cement carrier, container ship, ethanol and container ship respectively expected to sail on Wednesday. Two vessels viz Hanjin Paris and Jakarta Express with two container ships respectively due to arrive on Wednesday, while two vessels viz Prestige New York and Omera Queen with vehicles and crude oil respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 85,846 tonnes of cargo includes 60,581 tonnes of import cargo, 25,265 tonnes of export cargo and 2,000 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 60,581 tonnes includes 38,384 tonnes of furnace oil; 4,000 tonnes of edible oil; 862 tonnes of bitumen; 6,640 tonnes of chemicals and 10,695 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 25,265 tonnes includes 4,771 tonnes of cement; 5,050 tonnes of wheat and 15,444 tonnes of containerised cargo.
A furnace oil carrier MT Iron Monger-5 sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while five more ships namely CV Al-Sabahia, CV Nedlloyd Mercator, MT Anette Kosan, MT Golden Ambrosia and MT Redeim carrying containers, chemicals and bitumen are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven vessels viz CV Nedlloyd Mercator, CV Al-Sabahia, CV MSC Magali, MV Wales-II, MV Orient-II, MV Warnow Sun, MT Golden Ambrosia, MT Redeim, MT Anette Kosan, MT Iron Monger-5 and MT Asia Star are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, bitumen, chemicals and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Eight ships namely Green Line, Genmar Compatriot, Al-Soor-II, Al-Azizoo, Global Challenge, Patriotic and CGM Verdi carrying cement, diesel oil, containers, furnace oil, edible oil, chemicals and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of five vessels viz CV Izumo, CV CGM Verdi, MV Genmar Compatriot, MV Patriotic and MT Al-Azizoo scheduled to load/offload containers, cement, diesel oil, chemicals and furnace oil respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
