The Karachi Port handled 121,004 tonnes of cargo including 78,725 tonnes of import cargo, 42,279 tonnes of export cargo and 5,545 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 78,725 tonnes comprised of 37,887 tonnes of containerised cargo; 299 tonnes of general cargo and 40,539 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 42,279 tonnes comprised of 28,347 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,361 tonnes of general cargo; 11,771 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,760 tonnes of cement; 9,011 tonnes of wheat and 800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Eight ships namely Wan Hai-605, Ocean Jade, APL Brisbane, Cape Manuel, Bunga Raya Lapan, Bow Cedar, De Shan and OEL Shreyas with container ships, bulk cargo carrier, three container ships, oil tankers, bulk cargo carrier and container ship sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Nine vessels viz Lt Genova, Bow Cedar, OEL Shreyas, OXL Avenir, APL Zircon, Afamia, AS Ophelia, Silver Craft and Somho Valenica carrying container ship, oil tanker, container ship, general cargo carrier, container ship, bags, oil tanker, container ship and oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths. Four ships namely OXL Avenir, Hyundai General, Somho Valenica and Silver Craft with general cargo carrier, container ship, oil tanker and container ship respectively expected to sail on Tuesday, while three ships namely APL Zircon, Kota Akbar and Abdullalatif-S carrying two container ships and cement carrier respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday.
Three vessels viz Kota Akbar, CSL Ride and President Jackson with three container ships respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while five vessels viz Golden Yuka, Bux Melody, Hanjin Paris, Jakarta Express and Fatima with base oil, three container ships and sulphur respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 69,991 tonnes of cargo includes 56,824 tonnes of import cargo, 13,167 tonnes of export cargo and 186 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 56,824 tonnes includes 38,727 tonnes of furnace oil; 10,451 tonnes of iron ore; 6,356 tonnes of chemicals and 1,290 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 13,167 tonnes includes 5,957 tonnes of cement; 6,010 tonnes of wheat and 1,200 tonnes of containerised cargo.
A chemical carrier namely MT Golden Ambrosia sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while a bulk cargo carrier namely MV Upper Court is expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of eight vessels viz CV MSC Magali, MV Wales-II, MV Orient-II, MV Warnow Sun, MT Golden Ambrosia, MT Redeim, MV Upper Court and MT Iron Monger-5 are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, chemicals, bitumen, iron ore and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Six ships namely Nedlloyd Mercator, Green Line, Asia Star, Anette Kosan, Al-Soor-II and Genmar Compatriot carrying containers, cement, palm oil, chemicals and diesel oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz CV Nedlloyd Mercator, CV Al-Sabahia, MT Asia Star and MT Anette Kosan scheduled to load/offload containers, palm oil and chemicals respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
Three ships namely MT Patriotic, CV Al-Farahidi and MT Al-Soor-II with chemicals, containers and diesel oil due to arrive on Tuesday, while three container ships namely CV Izumo, CV CMA CGM Verdi and CV MSC Sena are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday.
