Punjabi stage actor Murtza Hassan alias Mastana has passed away on Monday owing to protracted illness Hepatitis C in Victoria Hospital, Bahawalpur. He was suffering from this critical disease and was hospitalised for the last three weeks where he breath his last at the age of 70.
He was one of the best Punjabi stage actor. He started his career from 1973 and performed in more than 2000 TV and stage dramas. He was very good actor and comedian. "Shub Daig" was his one of the best play throughout his career. He proved his acting skill in every field of acting. He worked in Punjabi stage shows in different cities of the country. He was very popular stage comedian. He had a large number of fans not only in Pakistan but around the world. Later on he retired from the stage. His brother Javed Akhtar told media that his funeral prayer (Namaz-e-Janazah) will be offered in the evening after Maghrib prayer at graveyard of Noor Shah Bukhari, Bahawalpur.
