Snowfall, rain make weather frosty in Chitral

CHITRAL: After a prolong drought like situation, the first snowfall and rain have turned the weather frosty in Chitral and its surrounding areas.

The snowfall was still continued in most areas of Chitral including Yaarkhon Lasht, Bamboret, Garam Chishma and adjacent areas while the Lawari top has also received up to six inches of snowfall where the traffic police were directing the drivers to use chains on tires of their vehicles to avoid slipping.

From Bamboret area social worker, Abdul Khaliq Kelaash told this scribe that six inches of snowfall has been recorded in the area while it was still raining on mountainous areas. The Weather, he told has become very chilly restricting the people to their homes.

The local police were asking the people to avoid unnecessary travelling as all roads in Chitral region have become slippery that may cause mishaps.
