The Supreme Court has issued notices to Kamal Azfar advocate in Civil Review Petition in National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), Federation of Pakistan through Secretary Law, Dr Mobashir Hassan and others to appear in the case already fixed for hearing on April 11 (Monday). According to a press release issued by the Supreme Court here on Friday, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry passed the following order:
"Notice be issued to Mr Kamal Azfar, Sr. ASC that in view of his letter dated 30.10.2010 he continues to be the counsel for the petitioner, therefore, his appearance in the Court on 11.04.2011 shall be appreciated because being a lead counsel his attendance cannot be ignored, particularly when no permission to withdraw from the case so far has been accorded.
"Copy of this order along with earlier order dated 13.10.2010 be also sent to the Federation through the Secretary M/o Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs for information, so arrangements are made by the Federation to produce its counsel on the date fixed for hearing ie 11.04.2011. "Dr Mobashir Hassan, etc respondents may also be informed about this order accordingly."
In addition to this notices have also been issued to Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Chief Secretaries, governments of Punjab, Sindh, KPK and Balochistan, learned counsels and Advocates on Records (AORs) for parties. It may be mentioned here that Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has already constituted a 17 member full court for the hearing of the review petition on April 11 (Monday).
