The Karachi Port handled 134,337 tonnes of cargo including 89,301 tonnes of import cargo, 45,036 tonnes of export cargo and 3,316 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 89,301 tonnes comprised of 24,004 tonnes of containerised cargo; 570 tonnes of general cargo; 13,268 tonnes of bulk cargo: 8,500 tonnes of coal; 4,768 tonnes of DAP and 51,459 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 45,036 tonnes comprised of 26,106 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,286 tonnes of general cargo; 16,644 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,940 tonnes of cement; 7,888 tonnes of loose bulk cement and 4,816 tonnes of wheat. Seven ships namely APL Japan, CSL Ride, Reis-G, Patton-1, Shayan-1, Botany Tribute and Lavander with two container ships, bulk cargo carrier, general cargo carrier, container ship, oil tanker and container ship sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Nine vessels viz Lodestar Genesis, UBS Cyprus, Hanjin Berlin, Iron Butterfly, Lavander, Mako, Al Khaliq, Samin-1 and Thuringia Express carrying oil tanker, bulk cargo carrier, container ship, general cargo carrier, container ship, oil tanker, bulk cargo carrier and two container ships respectively are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely Hanjin Berlin, Lodestar Genesis, Mako and Thuringia Express with container ship, two oil tankers and container ship respectively expected to sail on Thursday, while four ships namely Iron Butterfly, UBS Cyprus, Bow Victor and Bravo carrying general cargo carrier, bulk cargo carrier, oil tanker and container ship respectively are expected to sail on Friday. Two vessels viz AS Ophelia and Bravo with ethanol and container ship respectively due to arrive on Thursday, while five vessels viz Kormel, YM North, APL Guangzhou, Yossa Bhum and Pacific Express with ethanol, three container ships and steel & general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 39,768 tonnes of cargo includes 30,856 tonnes of import cargo, 8,912 tonnes of export cargo and 767 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 30,856 tonnes includes 20,751 tonnes of diesel oil; 4,000 tonnes of coal and 6,105 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 8,912 tonnes includes 1,152 tonnes of cement; 3,440 tonnes of wheat and 4,320 tonnes of containerised cargo. Three ships namely Al-Deerah, MV Shinyo Ayush and San Francisco sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while another ship namely MV Sam Eagle is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of six vessels viz CV San Francisco, Orient-III, MV Sam Eagle, ELM Glaxy, Al-Deerah and MV Shinyo Ayush are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, chemicals, diesel oil and coal respectively during last 24 hours. Seven ships namely Warnow Sun, Uper Court, Green line, MSC Natalia, CGM Puget, RHL Fiduda and Al-Azizoo carrying wheat, iron ore, cement, three container ships and bunkers are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of six vessels viz MSC Natalia, RHL Fiduda, CGM Puget, Uper Court, Warnow Sun and Al-Azizoo scheduled to load/offload carrying containers, iron ore, wheat and bunkers respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Iron Ore & Coal Berth, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal (FAP) and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Thursday.
