Business activity was seen at low ebb on the wholesale grain market on Wednesday as most of the buyers kept to the sideline due to steady arrivals from upcountry centres, dealers said. On the cereal side wheat old Bardan was down by Rs 25 to Rs 2400 and wheat new Bardan shed the same amount to Rs 2415. Gur also followed the same trend, losing Rs 100 to Rs 5300-6400, other items maintained the same levels, they said.
Only one change was witnessed on the grams side where grams 50x50 gained Rs 100 to Rs 5100-5300, other items retained the overnight levels in process of slow trading, they said. On the seed side cottonseeds oilcake with bag low type gained Rs 15 to Rs 1390 while the best type shed Rs 5 to Rs 1415, they said. On the rice sector Irri-6 Sindh low type was up slightly by Rs 5 to Rs 3325 and the superior variety shed the same amount to Rs 3375 during the slow business, they said.
