KARACHI: Sindh Rangers on Monday claimed to have arrested 15 alleged criminals, including two Lyari gang war members, in different targeted raids in the metropolis.
A statement issued by rangers’ spokesman said that the Rangers conducted a targeted raid in Lyari’s Chakiwara and Kalri areas and detained two Baba Ladla gang members, Qasir and Sheroz.
They were allegedly involved in hand grenade attacks on police, drug peddling, and several other criminals activities, said statement.
Separately, a Rangers’ team carried out a raid in Chakiwara and Kalakot areas and arrested three alleged robbers, Saeed, Zaman and Imtiaz.
The accused were stated to be involved in several robberies. Meanwhile, a ranger's party arrested two alleged political activists involved in crime from Tipu Sultan and Shah Latif Town areas. The accused were identified as Shahid Khan and Muhammad Nazim.
In crackdown on street criminals, rangers carried out raids in Lyari, Madina Colony and Shah Latif Town areas, and apprehended eight street criminals, Talha, Daraj, Asghar Ali Shah, Muhammad Rizwan, Fazalur Rahman, and three drug peddlers, Aqeel Ahmed, Muhammad Zubair and Salman,
The Rangers also claimed to have recovered weapons, drugs and contraband from their possession.
