PML-Q has termed the suicidal attacks on JUI-F leader Fazlur Rehman as alarming, and accused the government for failure to restore law and order in the country. PML-Q chief Shujaat Hussain on Sunday said that two consecutive suicide attacks on Fazlur Rehman were not a minor issue, and must be taken seriously.
At the end of a meeting with Fazlur Rehman at his residence, the PML-Q leader strongly condemned suicide attacks. He said that the government had failed to combat terrorism.
He said that his party did not protest against the speech of President Asif Ali Zardari to the joint sitting of parliament but against the poor performance of the ruling party.
Shujaat admitted that he failed in his effort to unit different factions of Muslim League under one platform. He said he was in contact with all the parties, but failed to unite them.
Fazl said that he could not comment on the suicide attacks till solid evidence was collected, and added that the government had assured of enhancing his security. He strongly condemned the US's drone attacks in Pakistan and said these were continuing for last ten years.
