The Staff of the Town Planning Wing of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has demolished as many as nine buildings being illegally constructed in PIA Housing Scheme besides sealing another four on the Main Boulevard of the said scheme on Saturday.
According to a LDA's spokesperson, four buildings were being constructed as commercial type structures in violation of the residential plans approved for plot numbers 9-G, 16-F, 410-E and 40-B/1, whereas no building plan had been got approved for under construction buildings on plot numbers 97-G, 422-E, 249-C and 230-C. Building being constructed on plot number 14-D was also illegal. The LDA staff demolished all these buildings.
The staff also sealed four other buildings situated on 6-G, 7-G, 17-F, 12-F because of the illegal commercial activity being carried out at these places. Meanwhile, the LDA has decided to recruit another 37 teachers for meeting the educational requirements of students enrolled in its institutions. These vacancies include 10 posts of male and two positions of female secondary school teachers in the subjects of science, 14 posts of male as well as 5 posts of female secondary school teachers for teaching arts subjects and two posts each of male and female computer teachers.
