Floodwaters have forced more than 4,000 people to leave their homes in Malaysia's northern state of Perlis, officials said Friday. A total of 4,230 people were sheltering at 32 makeshift centres across the state, a spokesman for flood relief operations said.
Constant rainfall over the past few days has overloaded irrigation systems and caused rivers to overflow, he said. Police said no one has been reported missing so far.
