Young Doctors Association (YDA) of Nishtar Hospital Multan observed complete strike for acceptance of their demands, here on Friday. The doctors blocked road in front of the hospital, burned tyres and chanted slogans against the authorities for employing delaying tactics in fulfilling their demands.
The YDA Multan chapter boycotted out patients department (OPD) of all the components of the hospital including children hospital, mother and child hospital and the burn centre. However, emergency services, and critical areas and operation theatres services were not suspended.
Young doctors are staging demonstrations in front of administration block and Nishtar Hospital/College for acceptance of their demands consecutively for the last 32 days. They are demanding increase in salaries, service structure and regular job for contract doctors. Postgraduate doctors and medical officers and faculty members have also joined young doctors association.
