Punjab Assembly passes seven bills

Punjab Assembly in its session passed seven bills and forwarded four to the committees to be returned by April 31, 2011. The bills passed were:
The Trust (Amendment) Bill 2011, The Transfer of Property (Amendment) Bill 2011, The Partition (Amendment) Bill 2011, The Employment of Children (Amendment) Bill, The Employment (Record of Services)(Amendment) Bill, The Punjab Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Amendment) Bill 2011,The Punjab Holy Quran (Printing and Recording) Bill2011.
Four Bills that were sent to committees for deliberation were: The Lahore Ring Road Authority Bill 2011, The Antiques (Amendment) Bill 2011, The Disabled Persons (Employment and Rehabilitation) (Amendment) Bill 2011, The Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control) (Amendment) Bill 2011.
The report for Punjab Pension Fund for the period ending 30 June, 2009 was presented in the House during the session. Responding to a question, Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said that Child Protection & Welfare Bureau was established under an assembly act PDNC2004. Under this act measures for beggar children are being taken, he pointed.
He said Elite Training School was established in 1997. The purpose of this school was to curb terrorist, ransom, highjacking and dacoity in the Province. Replying to another question, the minister said that during 2009-2010, 75800 cases were dropped because of lodging of fictitious First Information Reports (FIR's). He also said that in 2009, 717 cases of sexual attack on children were lodged. The minister said that there were three women police stations in the province. He added that in 2008, 55 cases were lodged and in 2010, two cases were lodged for ransom in the province. The House was adjourned later by the chair.
