Canadian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ross Hynes while paying glowing tributes to martyrs of law enforcement agencies said that these brave men sacrificed their lives to defeat terrorism, extremism. "It is their sacrifice and gallantry, which make the whole world realise that their commitment helped in rooting out the menace of terrorism and extremism," the Canadian envoy said during his visit to Police Line Headquarters Islamabad.
He laid floral wreath at martyrs' monument and paid tributes to all those who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty and defeated terrorists. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Wajid Ali Durrani, DIG (Security) Dr Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, SSP (Headquarters) Zubair Ahmed Hashmi, SP Ashfaq Chaudhry, DSP PTC Bakhtiar Lillah, DSP Ashraf Shah and other police officials were also present.
Hynes appreciated the performance of capital cops and other policemen who wrote golden chapter in the history with their blood by stamping out the scourge of terrorism from the soil. On his arrival the Canadian High Commissioner was received by Wajid Ali Durrani and a smartly turned contingent of Islamabad Police presented guard of honour to him. The High Commissioner visited National Police Martyrs' Monument and laid floral wreath. He stood silent there for a while to pay tribute to martyred. The IGP Islamabad briefed the visiting envoy about the names of martyred personnel of four federal police organisations, four provincial police organisations, AJK police and Gilgit-Baltistan.
