Equities register gains on LSE

Published Updated

Equities registered gains at the Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) on Monday amid ascending transaction volume mainly on account of fresh buying activity in selective scrips. The LSE-25 index showed an improvement of 22.54 points and closed at 3259.82 points against 3237.28 points of last Friday. Trading turnover surged to 03.362 million shares as compared to 02.265 million shares traded on last working day.
The market opened on a cautious note and closed in positive territory due to taking fresh position by the investors only in selective scrips. FFC, Adamjee Insurance Corporation, MCB Bank, Fauji Fertiliser Bin Qasim, Pak Oil Fields, Arif Habib Corporation, Noon Sugar Mills, Netsol Technologies, and Engro Corporation registered gains while OGDC, PSO, Dawood Hercules, Thal Limited, Attock Refinery, Pioneer Cement, PPL, Orix Leasing and Askari Bank appeared as major losers.
Brokers believe that levels of a few scrips are still attractive and investors can fetch profit by investing in those shares. They opined that positive news on economic and political fronts could give boost to the market.
