The Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Barrister Masood Kausar here on Wednesday conferred civil awards included four President's Awards for Pride of Performance and four Tamgha-i-Imtiaz upon eight eminent individuals for their outstanding performance in their respective fields.
The Governor conferred the eight civil awards on behalf of the President during a ceremony here at Governor House that was attended by people belonging to different walks of life in large number. The recipients of President's Awards for Pride of Performance include Dr Shafqat Karim, Principal Scientist, Physics Division, PINSTECH, Islamabad for his services in the Physics, Dr Mohammad Rasul Jan, Vice-Chancellor, University of Malakand, Lower Dir in recognition of his meritorious services in the field of Chemistry.
Likewise, Tajdar Alam, Managing Director, Virtual University Television Network (Virtual University of Pakistan) grabbed the Pride of Performance award for his matchless services in the information technology while Khan Tehsil, a known Pashto folk singer were decorated with this award in recognition of his services in art of folk singing.
The four others were awarded individuals who received the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz are Professor Dr Habib Ahmad, Chairman, Department of Botany, Hazara University, Mansehra for his matchless services in field of Scieto Genetics, Professor Dr Musa Kaleem Baloch, Director, High Tech Research Centre, Gomal University, D.I. Khan for his services in recognition of his services in the subject of Chemistry.
Dr Mohammad Humayun Huma was awarded Tamgh-i-Imtiaz in recognition of his meritorious services in the field of literature while Waris Khan Orakzai, a tribal elder from Orakzai Agency was awarded Tamga Imtaiz for is valuable social services in the war against terror.-PR
