Federal Minister for Interior Rehman Malik while reiterating the government resolve in fight against terrorism, vowed to continue the fight until complete peace is not restored in the country. The law enforcement agencies of the country are vigilant and would not allow anyone to disrupt the country's peace, Malik said while addressing the police officials and the families of martyred police personnel during his visit to the Police Headquarters on Wednesday.
The Interior Minister mixed with the families of the martyrs and laid a floral wreath on the monument of martyrs. The Minister also distributed gifts among the children of martyrs. Rehman said that Islamabad Police has always swiftly responded to the terror alerts by intelligence agencies and nabbed terrorists before they strike.
Islamabad Police is facing challenges much more than other police forces of the country and it has proved its commitment by keeping terrorists at bay from the Federal Capital, he added. Malik said that once Islamabad was being called a city of checkpoints, which were removed, as vigilant police force of the capital has made the city secure. It is a reality that with limited resources Islamabad Police is doing more than its capacity, he added.
The terrorists nabbed by Islamabad Police during different operations and by vigilant police personnel at check points speak volume of their determination, he said, adding that police officers and officials must keep the national interest in their mind and not to bow before any pressure. Malik said that the martyrs have rendered sacrifices to safeguard the country from the terrorists and have ensured peace and tranquillity in the country.
