Ulema and religious bodies have very strongly reacted against desecration of the Holy Quran by an American pastor in Florida on Tuesday and called upon the Islamic countries to make united and concerted efforts to stop recurrence of such intolerable and unforgivable crime.
The Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) has announced that it will observe March 25 (Friday) as protest day and hold rallies across the country to condemn desecration of the Holy Quran. SIC held a protest meeting at Jamia Ghosia Noria Sabzazar here on Wednesday, which was addressed by Pir Syed Mohammad Iqbal Shah, Sahibzada Naeem Arif Noori, Mufti Syed Muzzamil Hussain Shah, Pir Syed Mohammad Safdar Shah Gilani, Maulana Mohammad Ali Naqshbandi, Pir Atharul Qadri, Mufti Mohammad Hasib Qadri, Maualan Nawaz Bashir Jalani, Mohammad Nawaz Kharal, Maulana Mujahid Abdul Rasool, Pir Ziaul Mustafa Haqqani and Sahibza Fazal Karim MNA.
Karim said that desecration of Holy Quran by an American pastor has proved that Muslims are not the terrorist rather it is the United States, which is responsible for this religious terrorism. He said this heneious crime is a conspiracy to start clash of civilisation and destruction of world peace. The protest meeting passed a resolution to condemn US air attacks on Libya and called upon the international community to stop these unlawful and aggressive attacks on a Muslim country.
Chairman SIC Sahibzada Fazal Karim has written a letter to Heads of Muslim States calling upon them to boycott US products till such time that the US administration punishes the pastor who has terrorist and criminal mindset. He said if the West does not punish those who play with religious sentiments of the Muslims and commit religious terrorism then the Muslim countries should come out of the United Nations and form their own Islamic United Nations.
He said time has come that the Muslim countries unite and resist the aggressive designs and crusades against Muslim countries by the western countries. He said the Islamic Summit Conference should pass death sentence for desecration of the Holy Quran.
Meanwhile, five hundred scholars, jurists and Ulema of Jamaat-e-Ahle-Sunnat has started a two day Sharia Court at International Sunni Secretariat, Kala Shah Kaku near Lahore at the invitation of its central general secretary Allama Syed Riaz Hussain to give their Sharia verdict against the desecration of the Holy Quran in a Church of Florida under the supervision of its pastor.
Hussain will announce Ulema's verdict on Friday March 25 in front of the Lahore Press Club for future course of action by the Muslims against the pastor and the USA. Jamaat-e-Ahle Sunnat leadership has nominated a delegation who will meet the ambassadors of Muslim and non-Muslim countries in Islamabad and hand over a protest note to the foreign envoys. Central leader Jamaat-e-Ahle-Sunnat Pakistan said that Jamaat will start a campaign to boycott the American products.
