Eight more gunned down in Karachi

Eight more people including Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activist fell prey to the targeted killings in different parts of the metropolis on Wednesday. The MQM activist was shot dead in the limits of Garden police station. The victim 25-year-old Mohammad Ali, son of Abdul Jabbar, a resident of Waseem Terrace, was hit by six bullets while he was standing in his apartment. He died on the spot.
After committing the crime, the culprits managed to flee from the scene. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico legal formalities. Scores of MQM workers rushed to CHK after the incident. Tension gripped many parts of the city including Ranchore Line, Pan Mandi, and Jodia Bazaar and surrounding areas.
No case was registered till filing of this report. In another incident, unknown armed pillion riders sprayed bullets on a moving passenger bus (PE-3093), leaving a person dead at Walika Chowrangi in the limits of SITE A. police station. Police identified the victim as 24-year-old Rashid son of Riaz, a resident of Qasba Colony, Orangi Town. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for legal formalities.
Saleem Akhtar, 26, was killed at Shah Waliullah Road within the limits of Baghdadi police station. Police said the victim, a resident of Orangi Town, came here along with his accomplice for the purpose of targeted killing but fell victim. They said the victim's accomplice managed to flee the scene. A driver of a trawler was killed while at least four others including an official of spy agency were injured in a firing incident at Ayesha Manzil in the limits of Gulberg police station. The deceased was identified as Abdul Qadeer, 40 and the injured included an official of the spy agency Sain Kalado, Lal Hussain and Abdul Hafeez.
A watchman was shot dead at Malir Tanki Market in the jurisdiction of Saudabad police station. The victim 45-year-old Ghulam Wali son of Faqeer Mohammad was targeted while he was on duty at Malir Tanki Market in Malir area. He sustained bullet injuries and succumbed to his injuries. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
A man was gunned down at Ayub Goth within the limits of Sohrab Goth police station. The victim 50-year-old Ghulam Hyder son of Imam Bux, a resident of Ayub Goth, was killed in his home by unidentified men. A young man was gunned down near his house at Memon Mosque Hussainabad in the precincts of Azizabad police station. The victim Shahzad Memon alias Bhayya, 25, son of Rehmat Ullah was murdered when he was sitting near his house located at Block 3, Azizabad. A four-day old bullet-riddled body was found from the bushes at Gabol Goth in the limits of Gaddap City police station.
