After ‘Broken’, meet the ‘Woken Matt Hardy’

Following an epic Wrestlemania return of Hardy Boyz, Jeff and Matt won’t be able to make an impact in the ring since losing the tag team titles. However, Matt Hardy on Raw took the WWE universe by storm after introducing ‘Woken Matt’.  

Hardy's outlandish 'Broken Matt Hardy' persona – a Don Quixote-like mad man operating under the impression that he's a beloved hero – had launched the former WWE fan favorite back into pro wrestling’s spotlight.

But due to a legal battle over the character rights for the 'Broken' Matt Hardy gimmick – which was first used in TNA – the eight-time WWE tag champion was forced to wait to fully bloom into his once-red hot character until last night's Monday Night RAW after the issue was reportedly settled over the past week.

In his debut video on Monday night Raw, the Woken said, "Due to a condition, I have laid dormant inside this vessel called Matthew Hardy. But now, thanks to the consumer of terrestrial entities [Wyatt], I have been woken."

Hardy has been referring to himself as 'Woken Matt Hardy' instead of the original 'Broken Matt Hardy' since losing a match to Wyatt on last week's Monday Night RAW.

This means WWE fans would soon be enjoying the character of ‘Brother Nero’ (Jeff Hardy) with a new twisted name.

The Hardy boyz have a lot of success being turning into Broken at the Impact Wresting. This new Woken character would boost WWE and their careers to new heights.
