Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 120,851 tonnes of cargo including 56,485 tonnes of import cargo, 64,366 tonnes of export cargo, 5,036 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 56,485 tonnes comprised of 22,252 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,229 tonnes of general cargo; 2,804 tonnes of rock phosphate and 29,200 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 64,366 tonnes comprised of 26,210 tonnes of containerised cargo; 496 tonnes of general cargo; 23,660 tonnes of bulk cargo: 9,625 tonnes of wheat; 3,822 tonnes of rice; 9,008 tonnes of coal; 1,205 tonnes of cement and 14,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Five ships namely MT Karachi, APL Ruby, MOL Success, Al-Wajba and Fatima with oil tankers, containers and bags respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Five vessels viz Al-Wajba, Al=Kuwaitiah, YM Europe, Bunga Raya Satu and Ratu Temdaga carrying containers, oil tankers, containers and general cargo respectively are currently at the berths.
A container ship namely Bunga Raya Satu expected to sail on Tuesday, while six ships namely Al=Kuwaitiah, Bunglar Kallol, APL Torquoise, New Legend Fortune, Hyundai Tacoma and YM Europe with containers, oil tankers, wheat, containers, general cargo, containers, cement and containers respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday. Four vessels viz Loi Quetta, CSL Ride, Marianne Danica and Iron Butterfly carrying crude oil, containers, dangerous goods and project cargo respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while five vessels viz Usma, Buxmelody, APL Japan, Cap Gabriel and Glory with Mogas and containers respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIMThe Port Qasim handled 90,593 tonnes of cargo includes 67,684 tonnes of import cargo and 22,909 tonnes of export cargo, 1,047 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 67,684 tonnes includes 44,586 tonnes of furnace oil; 4,570 tonnes of edible oil; 8,870 tonnes of chemicals; 4,423 tonnes of sugar and 5,235 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 22,909 tonnes includes 3,289 tonnes of wheat; 7,030 tonnes of rice; 4,214 tonnes of cement and 8,376 tonnes of containerised cargo. A container ship namely CV Pago sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while a furnace oil ship namely MT FB Reginamar and a chemicals ship namely MT Chemtrans Mabuhay are expected to sail on Tuesday afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz CV Pago, Kimon-A, MT Alexi-1, MV Island Star, MV Suchada Naree, MV Trans Ocean, MT Chemtrans Mabuhay, MT FB Reginamar and Chemroad Mega are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, wheat, sugar, chemicals, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Ten ships namely Jang San, Akaki, STX Rose, Jun Hai-2, Malpensa, Margirit Rickmers, Sea Hope, Al-Salam-II, Nedlloyd Hudson and Ibn Asakir carrying rice, furnace oil, project cargo, dredging, containers, fuel oil, diesel oil and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of three vessels viz CV Nedlloyd Hudson, CV Ibn Asakir and MT Akaki are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
