SEOUL: South Korea's SK Energy is running all of its refining and pertrochemical units in the city of Ulsan were operating normally after they were shut briefly last week because of a blackout.
An unexpected power cut in the country's southeastern oil and petrochemical hub last Tuesday hit the refining and petrochemical plants of the country's largest crude oil refiner, fully owned by SK Innovation. The refiner said it aimed to fully restart all units by the end of last week.
"All the units are running as usual. We can say that they are at normal operation," a spokesman at SK Energy told Reuters by phone.
SK Energy owns a combined capacity of 840,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude distillation units (CDUs) in Ulsan. It also has two naphtha crackers with a combined capacity of 860,000 tonnes per year and heavy oil upgrading facilities with a combined capacity of 172,000 bpd there.
