Ban on pillion riding was rendered ineffective midnight Saturday as the Sindh government issued no notification warranting further extension in the ban, a private TV channel reported. According to the channel, the ban was extended on January 23, 2011 for another week because of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).
The home department has also confirmed that no notification had been issued for extension of ban, the channel added.
