Chicago Board of Trade grain futures were mixed on Friday, with March corn and soyabeans higher on news that a Russian government body backed eliminating a 5 pct import tariff on corn, wheat, and other grains, traders said. In addition, front-month soyabeans benefited from month-end buying as buy-stops were triggered around $14.14, the traders said. Resistance was pegged at $14.26.
March wheat was lower, under pressure from profit-taking and higher expected moisture levels from oncoming snow in the US plains. CBOT trends at 10:30 am CST (1630 GMT) on Friday:" March wheat down 12-1/4 cents at $8.34 per bushel. March corn up 3 cents at $6.53-3/4 per bushel. March soyabeans up 16 cents at $14.15-1/2 per bushel.
