The profit after tax of Attock Petroleum Limited (APL) has increased to Rs 1.743 billion in the half year period ended December 31, 2010 as compared to Rs 1.489 billion earned in the corresponding period in 2009. The company's earning per share increased to Rs 25.22 in the period under review against Rs 21.55 in the same period a year back.
The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on Friday at Damascus, Syria recommended an interim cash dividend for the half year at Rs 11.50 per share ie 115 percent. According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE), the company's sales increased to Rs 46.751 billion in the half year period in 2010 against Rs 42.875 billion in the same period in 2009.
The company paid Rs 6.424 billion as sales tax in this period against Rs 5.570 billion paid in the same account in the same period a year back. The cost of products sold increased to Rs 38.617 billion against Rs 35.744 billion. The company's profit before taxation increased to Rs 2.390 billion in the half year period in 2010 against Rs 1.965 billion in the same period a year back.
