Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 103,026 tonnes of cargo including 71,539 tonnes of import cargo, 31,487 tonnes of export cargo, 4,110 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 71,539 tonnes comprised of 27,996 tonnes of containerised cargo; 18 tonnes of general cargo; 10,529 tonnes of coal and 32,996 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 31,487 tonnes comprised of 27,287 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,253 tonnes of general cargo; 2,947 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,273 tonnes of wheat and 1,674 tonnes of cement. Nine ships namely Mariner, Strong, Kota Handal, Amanda, Abadeh, Chem Hydra, Trave Trader, Good Providence and Buxmaster with vehicles, bags, containers, oil tankers, bulk cargo and containers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Seven vessels viz Buxmaster, Lt Genova, Busan Express, MT Lahore, MT Sargodha, Sichem Melbourne and Cap George carrying containers, oil tanker, for repair, oil tanker and containers respectively are currently at the berths. Two ships namely Lt Genova and Sichem Melbourne carrying containers and oil tanker respectively expected to sail on Thursday, while two ships namely Cap George and Busan Express with containers respectively are expected to sail on Friday.
Three vessels viz Cardonia, Resolve and Bull Rich carrying containers, vehicles and wheat respectively due to arrive on Thursday, while nine vessels viz Oriental Marguerite, Loi Hope, MT Karachi, Positano, TS Tokyo, Hanjin Rome, APL Chicago, Gora and Panama Express with base oil, ethanol, crude oil, containers, rice and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIMThe Port Qasim handled 51,366 tonnes of cargo includes 41,419 tonnes of import cargo and 9,947 tonnes of export cargo, 1,186 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. A container ship namely CV CMA CGM Jamica sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, meanwhile another container ship namely CV NYK Kai is expected to sail on Thursday afternoon.
A total number of eight vessels viz CV NYK Kai, CV CMA CGM Jamica, ACX Marguerite, Kimono-A, MV Island Star, MV Rana, Trans Ocean and Blue Sea are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, sugar and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Three ships carrying containers, wheat and diesel oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz MV Angila, Dubai Express, MV Glory and Suchanda Naree are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Thursday.
