Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) has alleged that a partial officer Zafar Qureshi was appointed investigation office of the National Insurance Company Limited (NILC) scam and demanded of the government to remove the official forthwith.
Begum Shahnaz Sheikh of PML-Q made the demand on the floor of the National Assembly here on Thursday. She said that the PLM-Q had reservations over the appointment of additional DG FIA Zafar Qureshi as investigation officer of the NILC scandal, saying that they have no confidence on him. She demanded of the government to remove Qureshi immediately.
Another member of the PML-Q, Dr Attiya said that her party had no trust on the FIA officer. She said that it was political victimisation while the Prime Minister had already stated the PPP government would not politically victimise anybody. This investigation would be partial. She said that the Interior Minister should remove the officer from the probe. Later, the house started debate on price hike.
Rana Tanveer of PML-N said that there was a need of right sizing of the National Assembly. He said that former President General (Retd) Pervez Musahrraf had increased the strength of the National Assembly form 207 to 342 members. He said that the expenditure of the government had increased due to this measure. He demanded of the government to right size the National Assembly. Khilada Mansoor, Fouzia Wahab and others participated in the debate.
