In connection with a campaign, a team of the district administration raided a renowned restaurant at University Town Peshawar and arrested the accused and imposed a fine of Rs 30,000. According to a report issued by the DCO Peshawar on complaints of the people regarding the use of low quality cooking oil by the high-class restaurants.
The raiding team took the samples of the cooking oil used in Chinese Restaurant situated in the jurisdiction of police station University Town. The said sample was sent to the food laboratory for necessary analysis.
The laboratory, after necessary analysis, declared the cooking oil as substandard. The accused was produced by the police before the Price Magistrate and a fine of Rs 30,000 was imposed. The fine was deposited in the State Bank of Pakistan under the relevant head of account. Similarly, Administrator/ TMO IV carried out necessary price checking at Phandu Chowk. Four shopkeepers were found in violation of fixed rate and not maintaining the required cleanliness. All the violators were arrested and a fine of Rs 4500/- was imposed by the price Magistrate/TMO town-IV Peshawar.
