National Assembly session: Asma Arbab's lavish expenditure with 30 security vehicles echoed

The lavish expenditure of Advisor to the Ministry of State and Frontier Regions Asma Arbab Alamgir with as many as 30 security vehicles and official protocol echoed in the National Assembly on Wednesday on a point of order. The issue was raised by MNA of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Laiq Muhammad Khan from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa without mentioning the name on the floor of the House.
He said that an advisor is moving with escort of 30 official security vehicles and enjoying official protocol in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. He said that the people of the country are living in miserable conditions due to massive flood, earthquake and price hike while the advisors of the government are moving in luxury automobiles with 30 to 40 vehicles of motorway police and other official protocol.
Jamshad Dasti of PPP insisted Laiq without taking the mike to disclose the name of the advisor. Laiq said that the Prime Minister should take notice of it. I can provide video of this incident as a proof, he said. On this, Advisor to the Ministry of State and Frontier Regions Asma Arbab Alamgir stood up from her seat and went to the Prime Minister and communicated something to him and then came back in her seat.
The Prime Minister signalled to Minister for Labour and Manpower Syed Khursheed Shah to give reply on this issue on the floor of the House. The Minister said, "We have no objection if an advisor has her own vehicles." Asma Arbab Alamgir clarified on the floor of the House and said, "I am a women and belong to KP. I have security threat. There is no such issue; the member misunderstood the whole thing." On the occasion, Deputy Speaker who was chairing the House said that he also belongs to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but he has not this much official vehicles.
