Head of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Pakistan, Arif Masud Mirza has said that young finance graduates are today focused more on public practices which increases chances of their international mobility.
He stated this while answering a question at a workshop "Talent Gymnasium", organised by ACCA Pakistan.

He further said that the trend one sees in young finance graduates indicates that they are using public practices as a gateway to enter into the stream and set for them a convergent approach when they think about 'big four'.
The event served as a unique platform for dual objectives of honing professional skills of finance and accounting trainees and bringing together ACCA's key employers and talented trainees. The gymnasium featured a perfect mix of professional skill workshops on interpersonal skills and team skills led by Sohail Zindani and Shireen Naqvi respectively. The event served as a tool for ACCA trainees to realise their potential to excel in their professional careers.
The workshops were followed by an intriguing discussion forum on 'Talent Management for Generation Y' moderated by Fasi Zaka and led by experts from private and public sectors. Panellists at the forum included Coca Cola Beverages Pakistan Limited, MCB Bank Pvt Ltd and Ernst and Young Ford Rhodes Sidat Hyder and Co. Chartered Accountants. The discussion presented a wake-up call for employers of finance professionals to embrace career aspirations of youngest generation and offer dynamic career routes that capitalise on their finance skills, or risk losing the future talent.
