'Winter package' distribution in flood -affected areas: HHRD does the job successfully
Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD) in collaboration with King Abdullah's Flood Relief Fund successfully completed 'winter package' distribution in the flood-devastated areas of Sindh and Balochistan. The packages, containing blankets, jackets, shawls and woollen clothes were distributed among flood affectess of districts Kashmore, Jacobabad and Shikarpur, Sindh, while in district Jaffarabad of Balochistan, benefiting a total of 16,00 selected flood victims.
HHRD Country Director Fazal-ur-Rehman here expressed these views on Saturday, adding that most of the beneficiaries of the program were orphans and women who are more vulnerable. He said that packages were distributed among 400 worse flood-hit people of each districts being selected after thorough survey carried out by the organisation across the districts aimed at enable them to cope with chill weather. Abdul Aziz Bhutto Regional Co-ordinator of Sindh and Balochistan said that winter packages would be distributed in second phase in Punjab and Azad Jammu Kashmir as well, which soon to be started.-PR
