Leaders of Pakistan People's Party (PPP), and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), on Thursday decided to strengthen the relations and reconciliation between them. This was decided in a meeting of the leaders of the two political entities held at Sindh Chief Minister House.
Both the parties agreed that all matters would be pursued with harmony, co-ordination and consultations. They also decided to remove all hurdles in their efforts to work for welfare of the people and resolutions of the problems of masses. Federal Interior Minister, Rehman Malik, Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan, Sindh CM Syed Qaim Ali Shah, PPP and MQM leaders attended the meeting. PPP leaders Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq, Agha Siraj Durrani, Syed Murad Ali Shah, Muhammad Ayaz Soomro and Rafiq Engineer represented their party.
MQM was represented by Dr Farooq Sattar, Babar Ghauri, Adil Siddiqi and Waseem Aftab. Sindh Chief Secretary Ghulam Ali Pasha was also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the PPP leaders expressed determination that the reservations and complaints of MQM will be removed on priority basis.
The meeting also urged to move forward their working relationship under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari and MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain. Leaders of both parties also decided to ensure maintenance of peace in Sindh including Karachi with mutual cooperation. They also agreed that the national interests instead of personal ones will be given priority.
