Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 89,646 tonnes of cargo including 62,739 tonnes of import cargo, 26,907 tonnes of export cargo, 3,583 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 62,739 tonnes comprised of 17,678 tonnes of containerised cargo; 129 tonnes of general cargo; 9,462 tonnes of bulk cargo: 676 tonnes of wheat; 8,836 tonnes of rock phosphate and 35,470 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 26,907 tonnes comprised of 20,954 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5,153 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,218 tonnes of cement; 1,935 tonnes of talcum powder and 800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Ten ships namely MT Lahore, Lodestar Genesis, Precedence, Liberty Star, HS Challenger, Argent Bloom, President Folk, YM North, Yalibel and Wan Hai-605 with crude oil, chemicals, ethanol, wheat, containers, coal, palm oil, coal and containers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Four vessels viz Saigon Express, HS Challenger, Precedence and BSIF Princess carrying containers, ethanol and talcum powder respectively are currently at the berths. Two ships namely Concord and Saigon Express carrying containers expected to sail on Thursday, while another ship namely Mare Doro with rock phosphate is expected to sail on Friday. Two vessels viz Lucky Lady and Go Trader carrying base oil and coal due to arrive on Thursday, while ten vessels viz Sorrelle, Khorfakkan, Passat Spring, Kota Akbar, OOCL Dalian, TS Jakarta, Hanjin Paris, Island Star, De Shan and Admire Coral with HSD, crude oil, containers, cement and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 80,044 tonnes of cargo includes 62,094 tonnes of import cargo and 17,950 tonnes of export cargo, 1,902 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours.
The total import cargo of 62,094 tonnes includes 35,514 tonnes of diesel oil; 800 tonnes of furnace oil; 9,400 tonnes of palm oil; 2,940 tonnes of sugar and 13,440 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 17,950 tonnes includes 1,246 tonnes of wheat; 4,632 tonnes of cement and 12,072 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Three ships namely CV CMA CGM Jade, CV Izumo and MT Enrico Ievoli sailed out to sea on Thursday morning while two more ships namely MT Maritime Kelly Anne and MT Al-Salam-II are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of ten vessels viz CV CV Izumo, CV CMA CGM Jade, MV Leopard-B, MV Rana, MV Rain Bow, MV Yong Phung Ho, MV Galaxy, MT Maritime Kelly Anne, MT Enrico Ievoli and MT Al-Salam-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, sugar, chemicals and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours. Six ships namely Alexi-1, Island Star, Olympic Sponsor, Sichem Osprey, Argent Bloom and Chembulk Singapore carrying cement, crude oil and palm oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of four vessels viz CV NYK Kai, CV CMA CGM Massal, MT Olympic Sponsor and MT Sichem Osprey carrying containers, crude oil and palm oil respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Thursday. Two container vessels viz CV Kaethec Rickmers and CV Glory are due to arrive on Thursday.
