Karachi Port's activities

The Karachi Port handled 276,536 tonnes of cargo including 189,712 tonnes of import cargo, 86,824 tonnes of export cargo, 7,039 loaded and empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 189,712 tonnes comprised of 98,450 tonnes of containerised cargo; 21,387 tonnes of general cargo; 37,276 tonnes of bulk cargo: 27,900 tonnes of coal; 9,376 tonnes of rock phosphate and 32,599 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 86,824 tonnes comprised of 78,784 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,346 tonnes of general cargo; 5,194 tonnes of cement and 1,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Sixteen ships namely Kota Anggerik, Teera Bhum, Abdullatif S, Da Hua, Overseas Mindoro, CMB Maxime, Polaris Leader, Alliance Norfolk, APL Guangzhou, OEL Trust, CSL Ride, Marcampania, Bow Panther, CS Salina and Rolldock Sun with containers, cement, general cargo, oil tanker, coal, cars carrier, containers, palm oil, general cargo and dredger respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Fifteen vessels viz Polaris Leader, Alliance Norfolk, Teera Bhum, CSL Ride, Cape Manuel, Rolldock Sun, CS Salina, Mare Doro, Asashio Maru, Hyundai New York, OEL Trust, YM North, Lt Trieste, Sichem Osprey and Al-Saada carrying car carriers, containers, general cargo, oil tankers, containers and oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths.
One ship namely Yalibel carrying coal expected to sail on Monday, while six ships namely Lt Trieste, Hyundai New York, Al-Saada, Al-Wajba, Sichem Osprey and YM North with containers, base oil, containers, palm oil and containers respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday. Three vessels viz Lodestar Genesis, Wan Hai-605 and Island Star carrying containers and cement due to arrive on Monday, while five vessels viz Argent Bloom, MT Lahore, Precedence, President Folk and HS Challenger with palm oil, crude oil, ethanol and containers respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.
