Pakistan Education Task Force (PETF) had started its second phase where it will be consulting with business community and parliamentarians in the Sindh province where it aims to form a Charter on Education for Pakistan.
For this purpose, the Task Force is taking all the stakeholders onboard so that a consensus on education is formed and becomes a priority for everyone. Ms Shahnaz Wazir Ali, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Sectors chaired this first meeting of the second phase held at the head office of Pakistan Business Council in Karachi today.
Representatives from the business community, parliamentarians, education experts and members from organisations working on education development took part in this meeting. Asad Omer, CEO Engro, Zakir Mahmood, President HBL, Syed Mashhood Rizvi, Director British Council, Sindh and Balochistan, Mian Ehsan Saleem, Citizen Foundation, Shahzad Roy, Zindagi Trust, Saeed Hadi, Aman Foundation, Kamran Mirza Head, Pakistan Business Council, Special Secretary Education, Government of Sindh have been amongst the participants.
Pakistan Education Task Force was formed as result of discussions between President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari and the then British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown during Zardari's visit to United Kingdom in 2009. The aim is to increase the closer co-operation in the field of education between the United Kingdom and Pakistan so as to strengthen the bilateral relationship.-PR
