Hearing on Al-Azizia Mills adjourned till Nov 28

ISLAMABAD: An Accountability Court of Islamabad Monday postponed hearing on a reference filed against Sharif family members related to Al-Azizia Steel Mills till November 28, as prosecution and defence teams could not reach court due to blockade of roads in the capital.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had filed three references against Sharif family members related to the Avenfield property, Flagship Investment, Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Offshore companies in compliance with the Supreme Court orders in Panama Papers case.

During last hearing, former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and his daughter had filed applications before the court seeking changing their exemption from appearance in the court period as they wanted to visit Kulsoom Nawaz, who was under medical treatment in London.

Nawaz Sharif and his two sons have been nominated in three references where as Maryam Nawaz and Captain (Retd) Muhammad Safdar were nominated in the Avenfield property reference only.
