Workers list: ECP issues final notice to all political parties

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has said that all political parties were bound to provide a list of at least 2000 members with their signatures or thumb impression along with copies of National Identity Card and proof of deposit of two hundred thousand rupees as enlistment fee under Elections Act 2017.

According to ECP, in case an enlisted party fails to comply with the provisions of sub-section 4 of section 202, the ECP will cancel the enlistment of the political party in terms of section 202(5) of the Act.

The commission further directed that all political parties may also update their mailing or email addresses, telephone numbers and fax numbers for convenience and as a preparatory measure for General Elections 2018.

The commission asked the political parties to fulil the requirements at the earliest, within 60 days from the enactment of the Act, like December 2, 2017and intimate the commission accordingly, failing which action as mentioned in Para-2 will be taken.
