Federal Minister for Women Development, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Friday said the newly appointed Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa will play his role in curbing extremism and providing justice to common man. Talking to reporters during her visit to Kot Lakhpat jail, she said Khosa was the right person for the post of Governor of Punjab and he would use his energies for the welfare of the masses.
She said the newly appointed governor of Punjab was one of the best persons who had spent all his life for the supremacy of law. "We also respect judiciary and its decisions and will implement them in letter and spirit come what may," she said.
Regarding purpose of her visit to Kot Lakhpat jail, she said the visit was aimed at knowing the problems confronted to women prisoners and to ascertain the need for their training. She said a law would be passed to send children residing in jails to Child Protection Bureau. She further said that Attock jail was a role model where private-public partnership gave fruitful results, as women prisoners were professionally trained in different trades while their kids were given proper education.
