Chief Minister Punjab Sports Cup third phase, Inter Divisional Competitions started at Punjab Stadium here on Thursday. Provincial Minister for Culture, Youth Affairs and Sports Dr Tanvir-ul-Islam inaugurated the sports events in a colourful ceremony.
Secretary Sports Punjab Saeed Ahmed Nawaz, Director General Sports Salman Ijaz and other officers of the department also present in the inaugural ceremony. Police banned played tunes and the participating teams march-passed in the inaugural ceremony. In the third phase of Chief Minister's Sports Cup, high school level teams from nine divisions of Punjab would participate in different competitions, which would continue till 18 January. Boys competitions will be held in football, volleyball, badminton and athletics whereas, girls would participate in volleyball, badminton and athletics. At the inaugural ceremony, Dr Tanvir-ul-Islam distributed cash awards, medals and certificates among the winners of 100-meter race (boys and girls) judo karate and taekwondo competitions.
