35 power thieves held in last week

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) apprehended 35 electricity thieves from various its circles in raids during last week.

The IESCO spokesman told APP that 18 culprits were held red handed from Rawalpindi, nine from Attock, two from Jhelum and six from Chakwal circles.

They were involved in power theft through direct line (Kunda System) and breaking security strip of the meter, he added.

He said FIRs had been lodged against power thieves under the electricity (Amendment) Act.
