After improvement in the line pack situation, Sui Southern Gas Company on Tuesday, increased gas supply to Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) from 30mmcfd to 50mmcfd. According to a statement issued here on Tuesday, the SSGC assured its customers that as conditions further improve, it will increase supply to KESC, accordingly.
The SSGC had curtailed supply of gas to KESC from 60mmcfd to 30mmcfd due to acute gas shortfall some two days back. The gas utility company was facing acute shortfall of natural gas mainly due to decreased supplies from gas producers of different fields and increasing gas demand by domestic consumers due to winter season. However, the SSGC said that situation is gradually improving, enabling the gas utility to increase gas supply to its bulk consumer KESC by 20mmcfd.-PR
