GB decides to hold LB elections in March

The Gilgit-Baltistan government has decided to hold local body elections in March 2011 aiming to ensure transfer of power to grassroots level, Provincial Minister, Engineer Ismail said on Sunday. Talking to APP he said for the implementation of good governance the holding of local body election was necessary and the election schedule would be announced soon.
"Government of Gilgit-Baltistan is continuously working for the welfare of people and always trying to provide best available facilities to the citizens, he added.
He said the Chief Minister and his team was continuously working day and night for development of the area and Inshallah people would see the results of their efforts.
