Gandhi once said that everything you do is insignificant but it is important that you do it because nobody else will. Everything that we have done so far in life, whether it was fruitful or just a load of failure, was something that was meant to be done only through you and had you not done it, no one else would have, or atleast in the manner that you did it.
Celebrating success is important because in the kind of era that we live in. It is not the fierceness of common competition but the mere knowledge of it being done. Now a days, it is rather common to avoid re-doing something that has already been achieved and even if it is done, it is known that it is just a repetition. That has given rise to modern innovation, both good or bad or ugly.
The peace of an achievement only comes when it is in line with what we actually wanted. Sometimes, the same satisfaction is achieved through being revenged. Our dreams always play an important role in who we will be when it will be fulfilled. Working on your goals should be kept straight and in perspective until you reach a point where you know that nothing can divert you from that correct aim. Keeping your eye on the centre to win isn't as easy as it sounds though.
Benjamin Franklin said 'energy and persistence conquer all things'. Persistence, the very word that will make you happy on your achievement. Nothing else will. During the course of our life's journey, we lose what we want more. Is it what others have achieved, be it the ideal, historian, father, friend, ancestors, neighbour, ex or enemy, and we want more than that. What they did to their lives was perhaps either their need or what they really wanted to. If you follow them, you may become like them, or better than them, or fulfil their destiny, but where is 'you' and 'yours' then?
Who are you. A reflection of your past or an icon of the future. If all in your life is judged by the people around you, you will most certainly spend an entirety to satisfy them. And it is a fact that no matter how much you do for others, it is never enough. You will never be free from their wishes and you will never get time to breathe and do for yourself.
Just working hard in life is not enough, working for the right cause and making an ugly turn beautiful is the hard that should be worked upon. How complicated are things? Are they really impossible to be eliminated? Every problem we have today is a man-made poisoned pancake. Take weapons for instance. Made with whatever intention of safety, it is the biggest source of death. Why do we need the atomic and nuclear weapons? What for? Even a stupid can tell that if even one of them blows; it will be chaotic for half for the world, and any wise think the survivors are going to use their piles of nuclear as revenge? Despite the very logistics, our super intelligent governments continue to spend trillions of dollars for making them, keeping them, guarding them and hiding them. What exactly for?
It is highly ironic that more than the cumulative money spent on these weapons, children and women are dying of starvation, health problems, unidentified diseases and natural disasters. All at the cost of what? Somewhere sooner down the line, people will envy the people already dead. Why? Living in Pakistan, we are already, more than half way, past the old rare phenomenon of being scared all the time. We are scared and threatened of our friendship day in and day out, every second. You never know who might come across and rip your money or maybe the whole of you at any moment in time.
How ridiculous is it that you can't sit outside of your house and, maybe, enjoy the sun. You need to have as huge a wall as there can be alongside your beautiful backyard or front lawn. There is a tall building at every tiniest corner. No parking makes it further havoc to the eye and brain. The offices digest maximum people within a few square yards. The exclusive roads are for everyone, people on cars, people on buses, people on trucks, people on bicycles, people on cycles, people on rickshaws and people on foot. The overcrowding on roads is not because the population has grown beyond China's. It is because behind every traffic jam, there is always a biker who came in front of the car and how they are stuck, or a truck blocked a chawk signal only because they are always in a hurry.
You can get the license by not just bribe but by a mere telephone call. I heard they have revised the system but I also heard a few people who still managed to get their license over a few calls. The system is in place, the people are not. We do not hire people fit for the system; we mould the system to hire the people. This land is filled with opportunities. We can hire half the population of our country if we have a defined hiring for mallis, street jamadars, sewerage cleaners, trash collectors etc. There is so much pollution, hence so much scope of hiring these below the poverty line people.
I recently ended up having a very interesting discussion on the scope of veterans in this country. Given that many cities still use the horse, cow and donkey carts, why is it that we do not have animal doctors in these areas and hospitals in major cities. So much so, our country has a unique system of monkey, parrot and goats entertainers, which is infact also a serious profession given the number of such occupants. Then comes the medical profession. Everyone knows that we lack the necessary knowledge of producing proper medicine. Yet, we do not have research centers and hence no vacancies for such pharmacists, except that majority sells their licenses to people for a few thousands a year and the number 2 medicine keeps on getting sold at every street corner.
The government can easily appoint audit and inspection teams for so many problems that are ignored for God knows what reason. The existence of highly ill reputed hospitals and clinics, the use of animal and other oils in street food shops, the slaughtering of dogs and other animals and their selling to the street food shops, the use of what they call 'kundi' at various places to get illegal electricity, the everyday bribing in the WAPDA by the meter readers, the illegal kabza of plots...the list can go on. All this needs to be corrected. The minor issues that, if managed, can bring a very positive and 'big' impact on the society, health and wealth wise.
The revamping of the traffic control wardens was one good example of changing the previously highly ill-reputed example of traffic police walas. Although the bribing on signals has not completely stopped but has reduced to a greater extent. Moreover, the government has also been able to collect good revenue out of it. It all resulted from implementation of a carefully planned, proper training and reasonable salary package. Not something every difficult to do with the other corrupted occupations.
How do we then complain that we are jobless. There is so much scope for so many opportunities. It is just the lack of governments in such, what they call, petty issues. All the governments seem to be too occupied in handling and managing the current account, balance of payments and the budget deficits. While the public is told of how bad the numbers are, surprisingly, the world is given a rising and positive projection every year.
Take up Balochistan, bring it to the front. It is not any province that is shadowing it, it is the 'some' families living in it who are happy to rule the suppressed and have handy that comes from some other 'wealthy'. Improve the tourism, work on the northern side. All that terrorism is gone, renovate it now. Improvise on the Multan and other historical heritage. People will come flying in. The royals and the mughals have left us ample things to earn over. Imran Khan, solely, did something that is next to the state of art for the people in need. Not just because he had money but also because he believed he should because nobody else will. We are not progressing. We are not going anywhere. We need as vast and quick spread of the goods, positives and successes as is for the bad, ugly and corrupted.
