LSE index up 17 points

In the backdrop of fresh buying activity in selective scrips, equities registered gains at Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) on Thursday amid ascending transaction volume.
The LSE-25 index showed an improvement of 17 points and closed at 3763.99 points against 3746.99 points of Wednesday. Trading turnover further increased to 6.695 million shares, as compared to 6.142 million shares traded on Wednesday.
Brokers said the levels of a few scrips are still attractive and investors can fetch profit by investing in those shares. According to Brokers, any positive news on economic and political fronts could give more boost to the market.
Gainers were far ahead with the losers, as of 122 traded scrips, 48 showed strength and 18 went down, while values of 56 companies remained unchanged.
Among gainers, Pak Oil Fields gained Rs 10.66, OGDC improved by Rs 6.27, Mari Gas Co, appreciated by Rs 5.97, while Dawood Hercules, PPL, Engro Corporation, ICI Pakistan, Attock Refinery, Pak Refinery and Adamjee Insurance were up by Rs 5.61, Rs 5.11, Rs 3.75, Rs 2.80, Rs 1.76, Rs 1.28 and Rs 1.23, respectively.
On the other hand, National Foods lost Rs 1.11, Treet Corporation declined by Re 1.00, while Noon Sugar Mills, HBL, Bank Al-Habib, ABL, Nimir Industrial Chemical and Arif Habib Corporation were down by Rs 0.97, Rs 0.50, Rs 0.40, Rs 0.25, Rs 0.20 and Rs 0.16, respectively.
