Tokyo rubber futures break new record

Tokyo rubber futures rose for a second consecutive day to a new record high on Thursday on the strong US dollar and rissing oil prices, dealers said The benchmark rubber contract on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange for June delivery rose 12 yen, or 2.8 percent, to settle at 440.2 yen ($5.29) per kg. It rose to an intraday high of 440.5 yen, the highest ever.
"TOCOM prices have broken a new record above the key resistance of 440 yen, meaning that it's possible for prices to rise further again on Friday," one dealer said.
