State Bank of Pakistan has won the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2010-2011 (Division-II) Cricket Tournament by beating Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) on the basis of first-innings lead. It may be pointed out that the State Bank cricket team has qualified to participate in this tournament after 27 years and carved out victory for itself in its first appearance in this tournament after a very long time.
The five-day final, which was played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, was interrupted by rains and poor weather conditions. Therefore, both the teams could not complete their two innings. So the match was decided on the basis of first innings lead.
KRL cricket team won the toss and decided to field first. Batting first, SBP Cricket team was all out for 303 runs. In reply, KRL cricket team was bundled out for just 159 runs. Ali Naqvi (54) and Zulfiqar Jan (30) runs remained the top scorers from KRL. M. Naveed of SBP took 7 wickets for 61 runs.
