Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has said that a joint investigation by Punjab and Federal Police should be conducted in the assassination case of Governor Punjab, Salmaan Taseer. PML-N leader Saddiqual Farooq Wednesday said while talking to Business Recorder that the assassination of Governor Punjab, Salmaan Taseer should be jointly investigated by the Punjab and Federal Police.
Even they could go for judicial inquiry, he said. "The Governor was assassinated in the Federal Capital, why federal authorities did not provide him security in Islamabad," he posed a question. "He was out of Punjab's jurisdiction. It was the duty of Federal Government to provide him security. The pertinent question to the Federal Government especially the Interior Minister is that why federal authorities did not provide him security,' the PML-N leader said while replying to a question. About the appointment of new Governor of Punjab, Saddiqual Farooq said that the president must consult the PML-N and Punjab government for the appointment of new governor.
